Baptisms at Holy Angels Chapel
Baptisms can be arranged with Archbishop Deborah. The ceremony can be held at the chapel for 15 and fewer people or Deborah can come to your home. You will receive a Certificate of Baptism, Sponsor's certificates and a baptism candle.

The Sacrament of Baptism

Baptism is the foundational Sacrament of the Church, the primary rite of all seven Sacraments.

Through the waters of Baptism, candidates are initiated into the Church and become Christian, members of the Body of Christ.

A sacrament is "an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace." In the sacrament of Baptism, water is used to cleanse and purify, echoing Christ's own dying and resurrection. Holy Oil is used to bless and mark the candidate as Christ's own forever, beginning a new journey.

Through the waters of baptism, the candidate is reborn spiritually and given the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide, direct and connect them to God in a new and wonderful way. It is a mystical and ancient ritual and one that is cause for great celebration!

Baptism is about belonging and being part of a much greater community; a fellowship of people that love Jesus and God that spans the wide world. There are many kinds of Christians, with different flavours and individual ways to worship, but we are all one in the Spirit, one in Christ. When you decide to have your child baptized, or wish to be baptized yourself, you will be making promises before God and choosing to follow the life and teachings of Jesus.

Baptism is where the Christian journey begins. It is an ordination, a response to God in Christ and our willingness to be Christ-like in the world.

Archbishop Deborah offers baptisms upon request. You will need 2 godparents/sponsors who will be a part of the candidate's life and will be comfortable making promises to support them in the Christian way of life.

The Candidate will be baptized under the authority of the Community Catholic Church of Canada, which has roots in the Old Catholic Church, with valid orders and Apostolic Succession. Note that we are not part of the Roman Catholic Church, but those baptised with the CCCC have often been accepted into the separate school system. Please ask Deborah if this may apply to you.
